National Highway 47 runs through the western and southern edge of Ahmedabad, linking Sarkhej, Changodar, Sanand and Bavla before heading towards Bagodara and onward to Rajkot. Changodar in South Ahmedabad primarily offers ready apartments, and NH-47 (Jasdan-Ahmedabad Highway) passes through the locale. This stretch has evolved from a purely industrial belt into a mixed-use corridor where manufacturing, logistics and residential development now coexist.
Sanand, part of this corridor, has built its identity as a manufacturing hub. Sanand is a city and a municipality in Ahmedabad district in the Indian state of Gujarat, best known as the automobile hub of Gujarat. The presence of large auto and ancillary units has pulled in a steady workforce, and that demand has translated into housing, retail and social infrastructure along the highway.
Changodar, sitting closer to the city, has its own industrial identity. Changodar, an industrial centre in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, offers a unique combination of commercial and residential prospects, ideally situated next to the Sarkhej-Bavla Highway with good access to both the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport and the city centre. Further along the highway, Bavla functions as a quieter, more affordable town. Bavla is a smaller town in Gujarat's Ahmedabad district, situated approximately 38 kilometres west of Ahmedabad, the district's headquarters.
