Faridabad gets direct airport access as a 31-km greenfield expressway nears 2027 completion.
Enquire NowFaridabad's long-standing connectivity gap with the National Capital Region's newest aviation hub is finally closing. A 31-kilometre greenfield expressway is under rapid construction to link the city directly with Noida International Airport in Jewar, and the project is set to reshape how residents, businesses, and investors view Greater Faridabad and the Neharpar belt.
The corridor, officially the Greenfield Connectivity to Jewar International Airport from the Delhi-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh-Sohna Spur, has received Cabinet approval. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the Revised Total Capital Cost of Rs 3,630.77 crore for the Construction of Greenfield Connectivity to Jewar International Airport, and this 31.42 km long project corridor will provide direct and high-speed connectivity from South Delhi, Faridabad and Gurugram to Jewar International Airport. The project is being executed by NHAI under the Bharatmala Pariyojana on hybrid annuity mode.
Once operational, the impact on daily commutes will be dramatic. A 31 km six-lane Greenfield Expressway will connect Faridabad to Jewar Airport in just 15–20 minutes, with the project targeted for completion by April 2027, and some sections likely to open in 2026. This is a sharp cut from current travel patterns, where the new expressway will reduce the 90-kilometre stretch to just 31 kilometres, bringing down a journey that currently takes around two to three hours to just 15 minutes.
The alignment itself runs across two states. The project will begin at the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Link Road in Sector 65, Faridabad, and terminate at Dayanatpur village near Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, with approximately 22–24 km lying in Haryana and around 7–9 km falling in Uttar Pradesh. The expressway is being developed as a six-lane corridor, expandable to eight lanes in the future.
A key engineering component is the elevated stretch that carries the road over the Yamuna and connects into Faridabad's urban core. The corridor will feature an 11-km elevated highway connecting the DND-Ballabhgarh bypass to Noida Airport. The additional cost of the proposed elevated corridor is Rs 689.24 crore, and the Government of Haryana has agreed to bear Rs 450 crore for the elevated corridor. On ground, progress is visible: around 1,200 pillars have been built so far, and girders are being installed across the Yamuna River for the elevated section.
Beyond the airport link itself, the expressway plugs Faridabad into the wider NCR expressway network. The corridor intersects the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, and Dedicated Freight Corridor, enabling multimodal transport convergence. It also runs through territory earmarked for future growth, since this corridor traverses the area earmarked for high-density urban development and future infrastructure expansion under the Faridabad Master Plan, 2031.
Local leadership is framing this as a turning point for the city's identity within Haryana. Faridabad MLA and state minister Vipul Goel remarked that "Faridabad is finally witnessing its renaissance moment," adding that the 20-minute connectivity to the international airport will help the city harness its full potential and that "there is no looking back now." Urban planners quoted in the same report note that the connectivity eliminates the city's long-standing "dead-end" geography and integrates it into NCR's primary economic grid.
The early market reaction is already visible on the ground. The ripple effects are already visible across sectors, with Greater Faridabad, particularly the Neharpar region, witnessing a surge in investor interest. Industry observers point to a broader logistics opportunity too: Faridabad's strategic location at the intersection of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and the airport link is turning the Ballabhgarh-Palwal belt into what industry experts call a "logistics golden triangle," with industrial sectors such as 58 and 59 likely to witness renewed activity from export-oriented units. With the airport's Phase 1 capacity of 12 million passengers annually expected to generate spill-over demand in Faridabad's hospitality and retail sectors, homebuyers evaluating Neharpar and adjoining sectors now have a genuine infrastructure trigger to factor into their decisions.
