Where Konkan's coastline meets Mahindra's vision for tourism-led, modern living.
Enquire NowMurud is a small, historic port town on the Konkan coast in Raigad district, roughly 150 km (93 mi) from Mumbai. The town is best known for the Murud-Janjira Fort, situated on an oval-shaped rock off the Arabian Sea coast, considered one of the strongest coastal forts in India. Murud also houses the Palace of Nawab, built in 1885 for administration purposes and still owned by descendants of the Nawab, adding to the town's heritage appeal.
Mahindra's presence in Murud goes beyond a single project. Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited's wholly owned subsidiary, Deep Mangal Developers Private Limited, signed an agreement with the Government of Maharashtra for the development of a world-class tourist destination in Murud, district Raigad. The state government partnered with Mahindra Lifespaces to develop the coastal town of Murud as a destination for medical tourism and wellness, with the initiative expected to attract Rs 500 crore investment and generate 6,000 employment opportunities.
Alongside the large-format tourism destination, Mahindra Lifespaces has also planned a residential offering in the same belt. Mahindra Lifespaces Murud is planned as a residential project offering well-designed 2 and 3 BHK apartments that combine comfort, modern style, and daily convenience for families. This dual approach — tourism infrastructure plus homes — is what sets Murud apart from other Konkan coastal towns being eyed purely for weekend villas.
For homebuyers and investors, Murud offers a rare mix: a working fishing and agrarian economy known for seafood and coconut plantations, genuine coastal beauty, and now, large-scale institutional investment. As the broader Alibaug-Murud belt sees rising interest from developers and HNI buyers, Murud is positioned as one of the more affordable, high-potential entry points along this coastline.

Murud sits at the southern end of the Alibaug coastal corridor and is gradually benefiting from Mumbai Metropolitan Region infrastructure upgrades that are shortening travel times to the Konkan coast.
Murud combines everyday essentials with heritage landmarks, making it functional for residents while retaining its tourist appeal.
