Murud, Raigad

Murud is a small, historic port town on the Konkan coast in Raigad district, roughly 150 km (93 mi) from Mumbai. The town is best known for the Murud-Janjira Fort, situated on an oval-shaped rock off the Arabian Sea coast, considered one of the strongest coastal forts in India. Murud also houses the Palace of Nawab, built in 1885 for administration purposes and still owned by descendants of the Nawab, adding to the town's heritage appeal.

Mahindra's presence in Murud goes beyond a single project. Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited's wholly owned subsidiary, Deep Mangal Developers Private Limited, signed an agreement with the Government of Maharashtra for the development of a world-class tourist destination in Murud, district Raigad. The state government partnered with Mahindra Lifespaces to develop the coastal town of Murud as a destination for medical tourism and wellness, with the initiative expected to attract Rs 500 crore investment and generate 6,000 employment opportunities.
